The gate was easy to assemble out of the box, it didn’t need much assembling actually. Just cutting a few things with scissors was mostly it! I bought some additional wall-bumpers to help keep the gate in place without scratching the wall which I think was a great investment overall as the bumpers that this gate comes with seem to be pretty “meh”. Very happy with the gate though, super sturdy, auto shut is nice but it can also stay open if you’d like. The opening is very wide as well as opposed to other gates I considered so it’s barely noticeably when you’re walking through an entry that you’re going through the gate.

Works really well for us. We have an old home and our kitchen had a regular door on it, separating it from the living room.
